MEET THE 2008 BOARD

 


 
The 2008 President is Beverly Andreoletti, R.N. Beverly is a diploma graduate with 32 years experience in various areas of Nursing, which includes operating room management, medical-surgical, hemodialysis, and quality improvement. She is currently working as an independent legal nurse consultant. She's been an active member of the South Florida Chapter of AALNC for 7 years. One year as a Community Outreach Committee member,  6 years as a Chairperson of the Membership Committee, and also is the current chairperson of the Membership Committee for 2008. Beverly is also an active member in the Florida Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association and has served as a member on the Near Miss Reporting System for the Florida Patient Safety Corporation. The 2009 President Elect is Holly Bedgio, B.S.N., R.N.C., C.R.N.I., C.W.S., C.L.N.C. is an independent legal nurse consultant with over 26 years of clinical nursing and management experience. A former critical care nurse, she has held a variety of clinical and management positions in nursing in a variety of settings. She is currently Director of Clinical Operations and Risk Management for Matrix Home Care. She has developed several disease specific specialty home care programs dealing with COPD, CHF, Hemophilia, Home Dobutamine/Primacor Therapy, Home Terbulatine Therapy, Home Behavioral Health and Wound Management. She has authored and published numerous articles regarding post acute care nursing such as case management of the elderly, home behavioral health, wound management, and resource management in home care. She is nationally certified in home health nursing (RN-BC) by the American Nursing Credentialing Center, certified in intravenous nursing (CRNI) by the Intravenous Nursing Society, Certified as a Wound Care Specialist (CWS) by the American Academy of Wound Management and Certified as a Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC) through the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants. Her consulting practice Bedgio and Associates LLC provides a full range of consulting services and specializes in medical malpractice and personal injury cases. The 2008 Secretary is Agnes Devonish, M.S.N, R.N., C.L.N.C. has been in the healthcare field for over thirty years during which time she gained experience in different areas of service and has held positions from staff nurse to Director in Obstetrical services.  Ms Devonish nursing career began in England where she graduated as an RN in 1973 and CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife) in 1975.  She worked as a Staff Midwife at Central Midlesex Hospital in London before migrating to the United States.   She furthered her nursing career by attaining her B.Sc. from St Francis College in Joliet, Illinois and, MSN with specialization management from the University of Phoenix.  She attained Certification in Legal Nurse Consulting in 2001 from Vickie Milazzo Institute. Ms Devonish works as an independent Legal Nurse Consultant, and is CEO of Devonish Medical-Legal Consulting.  She maintains her clinical knowledge and skills in Obstetrics and the healthcare arena by being on staff at St Mary's Medical Center hi-risk Antepartum unit.  She is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants and has been a member of the South Florida Chapter since 2005.  She is also a member of the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants.   Ms Devonish's philosophy includes a belief that making a difference in someone's life is what really counts; it has been the most gratifying benefit in her nursing career. The 2008 Treasurer is Abdon Williams, BS, RN, LHRM. Abdon graduated from the University of Greenwich, London, UK with a BSN in Nursing.  He has been a member of the chapter for the past year and has over 17 years of nursing experience in various areas of nursing including clinical research and management. He is a Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager and a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. He currently works as Medical Analyst for a litigation management company and as a Performance Improvement Specialist with a large hospice company. Abdon can be reached at Abdon@sfaalnc.org.

 

The 2008 Director at Large is Barbara Y. Levine, B.S.N., R.N., L.H.R.M. Barbara's nursing career began as an LPN.  She continued her education and obtained her BSN from Pace University in New York City. After completing her degree, she held the position of Assistant Head Nurse for the Cardio/Thoracic telemetry unit at a large teaching hospital. In 1984, she relocated to South Florida and obtained a position as Clinical Supervisor for an HMO in North Miami. After the HMO disbanded, she secured employment at a Level I Trauma Center where she has been employed for over twenty years. Her past positions held were in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology department. Presently, she is interviewing and teaching the pre-surgical patient as well as analyzing the pre-operative chart. The 2008 Director at Large is Beverly Bell-Proffett, B.S.N., R.N., L.N.C. Originally from North Carolina, Beverly has over 20 years of experience in all areas of critical care and trauma, not limited to cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, trauma, and flight nursing. She began her career at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina and became one of the first nurses to venture into traveling nursing. She has worked at major teaching hospitals in addition to Duke including Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, University of San Diego, and The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC to name a few. She was honored with being chosen as 1 of the 1600 members of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics Medical Team during the 3 week games. Her assigned venue at Deer Valley Ski Resort in Park City, Utah was considered one of the most elite due to the aerials high jumps, mogul racing, and slalom events in which her trauma expertise paid off. Since moving to South Florida in 2003, she has been an active Disaster Nurse for the Palm Beach County Red Cross, being deployed 3 weeks after Hurricane Katrina to the Biloxi/Gulfport, Mississippi region to serve as Supervisor of Health Services. She has just returned in that same role from the California Wildfires of 2007. Beverly is trained as a single pilot with land and seaplane ratings, a rescue/nitrox certified scuba diver and serves as Chairman for the Fundraising and Conservation Committees for the Jupiter/Tequesta Junior Women's Club. Beverly currently works as an Independent LNC business, NurseShark Consulting, LNC in Jupiter, Florida, specializing in Medical Malpractice. She has been a member of the South Florida Chapter and the National AALNC sine early 2007.
